FOOD DISTRIBUTION TO 1600 STUDENTS FOR 225 DAYS

A food distribution program, Annapurna is being implemented where nutritional food is being given to the students of 6 government schools of Kolkata. The program aims to eradicate hunger among children, ensure better school attendance and improve nutrition and health indicators of children in the country. The program strives to give children access to healthy and balanced food in order to grow and learn, so they can be their best selves. It envisions doing so by providing food to the underprivileged children in collaboration with Indian Food Banking Network.

RILM started implementing the first phase of the program in 6 government schools in Kolkata through 6 Rotary Clubs and Inner Wheel district by providing food to1600 students for 225 days. The clubs are implementing and monitoring the program in the schools where as RILM is providing execution plan and technical expertise to the clubs. These Half a Million meals were being sponsored through "add HOPE", a program of KFC.
