15,000 SCHOOLS TO BE DIGITALIZED UNDER RILM'S E-SHIKSHA PROJECT IN MADHYA PRADESH

Under the E-learning program of Rotary India Literacy Mission, E-shiksha project of digitizing 15,000 schools in Madhya Pradesh was launched on 18th and 19th of June,2019 at Khandwa and Ujjain. The launch program was attended by Vishwas Sahu Khargon, Chief General Manager, NTPC, Shekhar Mehta, Chairman - Rotary India Literacy Mission, Ravi Prakash Langer, Chairman of National E-learning Committee of RILM and other Rotarians & governtment officials.

For this project, Rotary India Literacy Mission (RILM) had entered into an agreement with RajyaSiksha Kendra (RSK), Government of Madhya Pradesh on previous to provide e-learning facility in 15,000 government schools of Madhya Pradesh. In 2,500 schools, where government had already installed hardware, RILM will install only software module mapped with state board curriculum. For the remaining 12,500 schools, RILM will install hardware comprised of 49" television and software module approved by State Education Center. Teacher training on effective use of hardware and software will be provided by RILM for 30,000 teachers, 2 from each school.

PSUs like NTPC and NHDC have extended their hands of support to facilitate 108 government schools with e-learning from the state of Madhya Pradesh.

During the launch program, NTPC Chief General Manager, VishwasSahuKhargon said that it is the social obligation of all of us that every child in the state gets an opportunity for better education so that the evils of society can be overcome. Rotary India Literacy Mission's Chairman - Shekhar Mehta thanked National and State Education Centre, NTPC and the District Administration for this and said that this project is a milestone in achieving the goal of total literacy. Ravi Prakash Langer, Chairman of the National E-learning Committee of RILM said that the e-learning facility in schools will enhance the quality of both teaching and learning; the project will be executed through the Rotarians and Inner Wheel members formed at the district level under the guidance of the District Education Officer.
