Cyclones are now routine in the Sunderbans. After Amphan caused widespread damage last year, Yaas has led to more damage leaving several homeless. The cyclone have inundated ponds and farmlands with saline water, possibly making the land uncultivable for years.

Looking at the situation, Rotary Club of Dum Dum extended its hand of support to Hingalgunge area of Sunderban by distributing 250 IFBN Ration Kits to women under RILM's Annapurna project. Each ration kit consists of 5Kg of Rice, 1 Kg of Pulses, 1 Ltr Cooking oil, 1 Kg Salt and 100gm of turmeric powder. Club also distributed Chocolates and Biscuits. These kits were provided by Indian Food Banking Network ( Food Bank partner of RILM) and Hoerbiger, Food assistance support partner.

Past President Tapas Bhattacharya, Rotary Club of Dum Dum helped in coordinating and implementing the project successfully.
