Along with imparting the functional literacy course to the targeted group of beneficiaries, the Adult Literacy program of Rotary India Literacy Mission focuses on creating an eco-system for socially and economically disadvantaged adults which will support them to explore avenues for earning a respectable and sustainable livelihood. It aims to do so through the Skill Development initiative.

The Skill Development initiative focuses on leveraging available government schemes and building partnership with various governmental and non-governmental organizations to impart training on new skills or enhance existing skills of neo-literate/literate adults in order to ensure their socio-economic empowerment and sustainable development.

Achievements: More than 1500 women and young people have been trained and placed in jobs through RILM skill development program.
