Shekhar Mehta is only the 4th Indian in 118 years to become the President of Rotary International year.

Shekhar Mehta is a keen academician and has the unique combination of Masters in Commerce, a qualified Chartered Accountant, Cost Accountant and Company Secretary.

He heads the Skyline Group engaged in Real Estate Development in different parts of India, including the largest group housing in the state of Rajasthan.

He is member of many professional, cultural and charitable organizations.
He has served as trustee of Shelter Box (UK)
He is the Chairman of Operation Eyesight India, a Canada based organization.
Shekhar Mehta joined Rotary in 1985 and served as District Governor in 1999-2000 and was elevated to the Board of Directors of Rotary International for 2011-2013.

He has been Chairman of:
• Rotary India Literacy Mission.
• Rotary Foundation India.
• Rotary India Humanity Foundation.
• Eastern India Rotary Welfare Trust and many other foundations

During the challenging times of the COVID-19 pandemic, Mr. Shekhar Mehta led Rotary's efforts, contributing Rs. 106 crores to the PM Cares Fund and overseeing projects worth Rs. 150 crores. He collaborated with a US-based NGO to donate thousands of Oxygen Concentrators valued at about Rs. 100 crores to India. Additionally, he played a pivotal role in establishing 15 eye hospitals in India and two in Bangladesh, facilitating over 5,00,000 eye surgeries over the last 23 years.

Keenly dedicated to service, Shekhar Mehta has led many major service initiatives in India & South Asia. Some significant initiatives are:
• Constructing 500 homes for Tsunami survivors at Andaman & Nicobar Islands. He personally visited that remote Island 7 times from Kolkata to ensue construction and also did the fund raising.
• Starting the Shelter Kit program in India which has served about 20 disasters distributing more than 15,000 Shelter Kits helping about 75,000 disaster victims.
• He started saving little hearts a pediatric Heart Surgery Program – through this he has got done more than 2500 heart surgeries for children from across India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal & Uganda, Ethiopia, Afghanistan, Nigeria etc..
• Conceptualizing nationwide T-E-A-C-H a literacy program in India having reached out to more than 50,000 Schools and 15 million children. He has helped take the E-learning Program to millions of children through the PM e-vidya television channels of Government of India.
• He has been Instrumental in setting up more than 15 Eye Hospitals across India serving nearly 50,000 eye operations each year.
• Responding to the Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s national call – He has helped set up 7000 rural toilets benefiting 35,000 people.

The Prime Minister of India and various cabinet Ministers have applauded these mega initiatives of
Rotary in India.

He was an outstanding Ambassador of Rotary visiting 42 countries in 46 weeks, meeting more than 30 Presidents, Prime Ministers and several Ministers, Ambassadors etc. offering development initiatives to each of these countries in the fields of literacy, health, environment etc. Many of these have already started.

Shekhar Mehta is recipient of the highest awards of Rotary International & The Rotary Foundation:

(i) “Service Above Self Award”
(ii) “The Distinguished Service Award”.

He received the Mahatma Award for Global Social Impact
He was awarded the World Peace Icon Award 2022.
His guiding mantra in life is “Service is the rent that we pay for the space we occupy on this earth”.

A Doctor by education and profession, an Entrepreneur by nature, an adventurist, nature lover & globe trotter by passion and a Rotary leader by achievement, our Chief Guest RI Director-elect Dr.Mahesh Kotbagi presents a unique fusion of capabilities and talents. An M.D in Gynaecology from Pune University a past member of Senate and Hon Professor in many management & medical colleges. Dr.Kotbagi dedicated himself to the ideal of Low-Cost Health Care. He set up a small hospital in 1991 which grew into large multi-speciality hospitals, with ISO-9001-2000 certification. He went on to serve as a consultant for the development of many low-cost healthcare hospitals. He set up the Chinmayi Medical Foundation Charitable Trust to support low cost health care services and support children for Education.

He was invited to join the Rotary Club of Pune Sports City in 1995 and served as youngest District Governor of RI Dist.3130 in 2005-06. Since then his rise in Rotary has been meteoric. He has done justice to the full range of Rotary assignments, including RI President’s Representative, International Training Leader, Chairman South Asia Literacy Summit, Co-Chair /Vice Chair of many Rotary Institutes and Summits. He is the pioneer of implementing Technology and AV Conferences in many Districts, Rotary Institutes and Summits in Rotary India. His current responsibilities include Chairman - GETS -Governor Elect Training Seminar 2020, Co-Chairman - RILM -Rotary India Literacy Mission, Chairman Technology - Rotary Institute 2020 and Trustee in Rotary India Humanity Foundation.

He has researched and written on subjects like District Rules and Procedures, The Rotary Foundation Hand Guide promotion, Rotary International Youth Exchange Hand Guide promotion. , Published Audio / Video Films on Rotary subjects, Global Matching Grants / Competitive Grants / 3 H Grants. He is a deserving recipient of Rotary’s ‘Service above self-Award’, TRF’s ‘Citation of Meritorious Service’ and the Polio Plus Appreciation Award. Dr.Mahesh is a Major Donor Level III and Benefactor.
