Rotary Club of Chandigarh Midtown has taken up an Adult Literacy project for educating the dropout siblings and illiterate mothers of the students studying at the Govt. elementary school of Singhpura. The school mainly caters to children from the economically disadvantaged sections of the society.

Past President Ashok Puri and Rtn. Sudha Puri have taken up this initiative of reaching out to these women who are first time school goers like their children. Even the siblings of many of these children were dropouts.

Rotary Club of Chandigarh Midtownarranged for stationery and books for all the students in order to make this initiative a success. It is most gratifying to see all the participants developing more confidence in themselves and a new eagerness to learn more.
